Unit reporting

Post  Damien Zeehem on Tue Dec 18, 2012 9:14 am

Gentlemen,

(and the others,)

I'm the guy responsible for Damien -sorry about that. Nothing extraordinary, but since this text won't fill up by itself, I'll have to start somewhere: 21 year-old engineering student, started online roleplaying at the age of 13 on C&C themed rpg forums, because yes, that exists, but then kinda fell into inactivity for a long time; last year I found out about Nygozy's other forum based on NWN2, and played Zabrard Mazel, which I basically tried to transplant from D&D to Dragon Age with Damien. Needless to say, much was screwed up in the process, but on the other hand the formats were rather...incompatible.

Actually finding myself here -or on NWNAfter for that matter- is quite a coincidence, because I'm not usually a big fan of RPG's and medieval-fantasy settings. As a matter of fact I'm more FPS- and RTS-oriented, but for some odd reason I got completely stuck to NWN2 and played it through 3 times, plus expansions. Probably because that seemed more attractive than studying, at the time. Anyway, I'm now slowly getting through the campaign of DA (slooooowly), and I have to admit it's quite enjoyable, even though I'd have my complaints to make, but studies are also rather challenging, right now.

Despite my not having finished the game quite yet (is that even grammatically correct?), I've been lurking on this forum for so long that I do believe I've been through all the RP here (maybe even twice, for some parts), and I just couldn't resist the urge to join you here. Sorry to pop in like that, hope I won't disappoint !

So here's about me, I've probably forgotten a lot but, well, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
And if you have any complaints, feel free to go f*** yourself :p

NWN2's campaign was, like its predecessor's, shit.

MOTB made up for that, though - same way HOTU did.

If you haven't already, you should absolutely play Adam Miller's modules for NWN1 (Shadowlords/Dreamcatcher/Demon) and 2 (Dark Waters).

It was unfinished, bugged, caricatural, and worst of all the French voices were downright horrible: they had something like four or five guys doing all the voice-over of the game, and the guy voicing the villain was the same guy that dubbed Teal'c in the Stargate:SG1. Seriously.
That must give you an idea of how not entertaining studying was at this time. Didn't like MOTB, though. It pretended to be too serious, but just didn't make it, and I hated the guts of every single character they'd put in.

Er. I guess you must not be big into the Forgotten Realms setting or lore. I loved the writing - very reminiscent of HOTU and Planescape: Torment.

Oh, and I forgot to ask: what is your velocity?

(No, you're right, I just don't have the right mindset to enjoy this sort of writing)

That depends, what is my referential?

Well then, assuming you're not moving at the time you're reading this, and assuming that I'm not moving right now (you'll have to take my word for that one), let's say it's approximatively 0 meter per second (let's just ignore the continental drift, shall we?)

Nope. Gotta tell me your exact velocity. Heisenberg, yeah?

If I could give you my super-precisely-absolutely-exact speed, then yes, according to Heisenberg's principle, I could no longer retain a physical position: because the uncertainty about my coordinates in space would become infinite. My wave function would spread out, levelling on infinity, making me virtually present in the entire universe at the same time. I would have that exact speed, but for the short moment of our mesuring, I would have transcended your particule-based plane of thinking, soaring through the fabric of space to become one with the universe. You could measure my speed, but by doing it, you would make me a god.

Would you dare, Final ? Would. You. Dare ?

Meh. The biggest thing that is actually affected by this is the electron, unfortunately. Even the atomic nucleus doesn't give a damn about its wave function. So my initial answer still stands.

I would, in fact, dare. Being the impetus for someone's apotheosis would be a pretty sweet reason for a Wikipedia article.
